The intersection of E. Fordham Road and E. Kingsbridge Road was the scene of a bus-on-car accident.
The crash occurred Wednesday afternoon when a vehicle hit a bus in the intersection. The car flipped over after the collision and struck three pedestrians.
Seven people were injured in total, all of whom taken to local hospitals. None of the injuries appear to be life threatening.
A police investigation remains underway.
The injured have options
It’s easy to feel like you’re alone after a serious car accident. The physical pain, the medical debt, the mental trauma – it can all be too much.
Though the obstacles are many, it’s important to know that you still have rights. If the accident was caused by negligence or wrongdoing, you may file a personal injury lawsuit against those responsible. A successful suit may result in money to cover losses incurred because of the accident.
A New York City personal injury attorney can help the injured, and their families, get back to — if not normal life before the accident, then something closer to normal. They understand the law and can craft a legal strategy around your unique objectives. They can deal with insurance companies and manage settlement negotiations with the opposing party.
It’s important to act quickly. Motor vehicle accident lawsuits often require extensive investigation and discovery, and many take months or even years to fully resolve. Furthermore, New York State imposes a three-year statute of limitations on all personal injury lawsuits – failure to get started could mean permanently forfeiting the right to legal recourse.
