The roads in the northeast are congested and dangerous. With recent reports that changed the most congested city in the U.S. to New York, we have all had to deal with dangerous driving conditions and drivers. And, unfortunately, these accidents are not always simple fender benders. Indeed, sometimes, residents are killed, like in a recent Ocean City, New Jersey, car accident.
The car accident
According to the Cape May County Prosecutor and Ocean City Police, the auto accident occurred Tuesday evening, just after 6:00 p.m. It happened at the intersection of Bay Avenue and 9th Street when a 48-year-old from Somers Point tried to make a left-turn onto Bay Avenue from 9th Street. It was at this point when he was stuck by a 33-year-old man from Galloway.
After the auto accident
A passenger in the Somers Point vehicle, a 66-year-old Ocean City native, was taken to Shore Medical Center. Unfortunately, was subsequently pronounced dead. The driver was also taken to the hospital, but with non-life-threatening injuries. The status of the Galloway driver or any occupants of that vehicle were not released. And, OCP is still investigating the accident. No charges have been filed and no fault has been found yet. But, any witnesses are encouraged to contact OCP.
After any accident
For car accident victims in Hackensack, New Jersey, and the New York City metro area, call an attorney. But, at the accident scene, get as much information as possible. This includes ensuring that a police report is filed and everyone on scene is examined by an ambulance.
